Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

RightSite Driving School ("we", "us") is a driving school operating from Wasaga Beach and serving Wasaga Beach, Collingwood and Stayner, Ontario. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Ravinder Boparai is responsible for privacy at RightSite Driving School. Any question, correction or complaint about your information comes to him directly, using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

When you enquire — your name, phone number, email address, which course you're asking about, your town, and whatever you write in your message.

When you enroll, our course forms ask for more, because the Ministry of Transportation requires it and because our instructors need to reach you:

During lessons — video and audio recorded by the cameras fitted in our instruction vehicles. This has its own section below.

When you visit this website — anonymous traffic data through Google Analytics (pages visited, rough location, device type). This does not identify you by name.

We do not ask for and do not want your payment card numbers, banking login details, or Social Insurance Number, by message, form or any other route.

Cameras in our vehicles

Our instruction vehicles are fitted with cameras, and lessons and road-test-day drives are recorded, including audio.

Why: the safety of the student and the instructor, evidence if there is a collision or an incident on the road, insurance requirements, and reviewing an instructor's own teaching.

Who can see it: the owner and the instructor who taught the lesson. We will hand footage to our insurer, the police, or the Ministry of Transportation if there has been an incident or where the law requires it. We do not post lesson footage publicly, use it in advertising, or share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it: recordings loop and overwrite automatically, normally within 30 days. If a recording captures a collision, a complaint or another incident, we keep that clip separately until the matter is closed.

Your rights here: you can ask whether a recording of a particular lesson still exists and ask to see it. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian can ask on their behalf. If you would rather not be recorded, tell us before the lesson — but understand we may not be able to run the lesson, since the cameras are part of how we keep both people in the car safe.

How we collect it

Payment

We take payment by Interac e-Transfer. We do not process credit or debit cards, and we never see or store card numbers or bank account numbers. What we receive from an e-Transfer is your name and the email address or phone number you sent it from, plus the amount — nothing else.

Why we use it

We will only contact you about driving lessons and your bookings. We do not send marketing newsletters, and you can tell us to stop contacting you at any time.

Students under 18

Most of our BDE students are teenagers. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must complete and sign the enrollment with you.

We collect a student's details for the purpose of instruction and MTO certification only. A parent or guardian may ask us at any time to see, correct or delete their child's information, and may ask about any lesson recording involving their child.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone. We share it only where it is necessary to deliver the service:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, such as a court order or a request from a law enforcement or licensing authority.

Where your information is kept

When you submit a form on this website it is emailed straight to our Gmail account. This website keeps no copy — there is no database and no file of past submissions sitting on our web server.

Google, Calendly and Meta store data on servers outside Canada, mostly in the United States. That means your information may be held and processed there, and while it is there it can be subject to the laws of that country. Lesson recordings stay on the camera or on local storage in Canada.

How long we keep it

How we protect it

Records are kept in password-protected accounts with two-step verification turned on, accessible only to the owner and the instructors who need them. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit, and this website is served over HTTPS. No system is perfect, but we don't keep information we no longer need, which is the simplest protection there is.

If information we hold about you is ever lost or exposed in a way that could put you at real risk, we will tell you and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires.
