An individual one-on-one lesson is $55 + HST. The full 40-hour MTO-approved BDE course is $649 + HST. A car for your road test is $150 + HST at the Collingwood DriveTest Centre, or $220 + HST at all other Ontario DriveTest locations.
The $649 + HST package is a complete 40-hour MTO-approved program: 20 hours of self-paced online theory, 10 hours of flexible home study (homelinks and self-study activities), and 10 hours of in-car training with a licensed instructor. All theory is done online from home — no classroom attendance. You receive the official MTO BDE certificate on completion.
No. Individual lessons are perfect for extra practice or a refresher before your road test, but they don't include the BDE certificate, the G2 wait-time reduction from 12 to 8 months, or insurance-discount eligibility. For those benefits, enroll in the full BDE course.
BDE graduates can book their G2 road test after 8 months on a G1 instead of 12 — four months sooner. RightSite certifies your completion online directly with the MTO, so your driver record updates automatically with no paperwork.
