How to use the mock test
1. Take it cold
Do your first mock test before you study hard. The topic breakdown at the end shows you where to spend your time.
2. Fix the gaps
Use “Practise one topic” for anything under 80%, and read the handbook section named under each missed question.
3. Review your misses
“Practice My Wrong Answers” brings back only the questions you got wrong on this device.
4. Aim for 16 of 20 in each part
When you can do that on a few different mock tests in a row, you’re in good shape. Check drivetest.ca for the official format.
Before test day
- Read the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook — our questions are based on it.
- Bring two pieces of identification, money for the fees, and your glasses or contacts if you need them to drive.
- If you live around Wasaga Beach, Collingwood or Stayner, you don’t have to drive to Barrie: the DriveTest travel point in Collingwood (ServiceOntario, 191 Hurontario Street) offers the G1 knowledge test as well as road tests. It only runs on set days, so check drivetest.ca for the current days and hours before you go.
Common questions
Is the mock test the same every time?
No. Each mock test picks 20 sign questions and 20 rules questions at random from our question bank, and the answer order is shuffled too.
Why can’t I see the answers during the mock test?
To make it feel like the real thing. You see every answer and explanation on the results page. The shorter practice tests have an option to show answers as you go.
What score should I aim for?
Aim for at least 16 out of 20 in both the signs part and the rules part. Check drivetest.ca for the official pass mark.
Does the mock test save my results?
Your recent scores and missed questions are saved on your device so you can track your progress. RightSite also keeps a private record of your results, which is never shown publicly.
